Just sending out a quick Vernon Judo Club update on this holiday weekend.
First, remember there are no classes Monday. For those who can attend Tuesday, we will be having a combined make-up class Tuesday 7-8:30, where younger students can leave at 8 if it makes for too late a night.
Next, thanks for all the volunteers who helped at the Inter-Provincial workout. Your effort and expertise was greatly appreciated by the club and attendees. The national team coach was so impressed with things that he mentioned he’d like to retire to our area. Hosting over 250 competitive and high-level judoists was great for judo in our region.
Looks like Nadine and Sydney will compete at the Sask Open with Donna refereeing. Other events coming up include the Rainier Cup, Quebec Open and Ontario Open. Our juniors should be focusing on the upcoming Steveston Junior Tournament November 17th.
The season calendar is up at the site and will be receiving periodic updates. See the Events tab at http://vernonjudo.ca with the calendar at the lower right if you’re on a PC or at the bottom if you’re on a smart phone.
The first pair of Regional Team workouts is in Vernon Sunday October 28th, 10-12 and 1-3. I think that Team BC hopefuls need to attend a minimum of 8 sessions–which are also posted on our calendar.
Finally, the last of our 2017/2018 season apple juice is expiring November; we will be selling off the remaining stock (there are less than 10 boxes left) and receiving another batch soon.
